Water Damage can result in extensive damage and health risks, so we at All Starrs Carpet Care take this situation very seriously. Water doesn't stop for any valuables, collector items, or family heirlooms passed down through generations. The more prompt the response to this situation, the less damage will be caused. Every hour is of the essence. We offer 24 hour emergency service. We will work with your insurance adjuster, accommodate you and your situation. Damage can range from minimal to extreme. We will make every effort to be on site as fast as we can, to reduce the amount of damage that is currently getting worse by the minute. The most important thing is to eliminate the source of water, then get your contents out of immediate danger.

Mold and mildew sets in within 24 hours of original damage. Drywall may need to be removed depending on the situation. Mold requires three things in order for it to grow: first - moisture, second - temperature between (68 and 86 degrees F.) and third - a cellulose material (that which comes from plant life) wood, drywall paper and jute back carpet. It cannot grow on carpet with plastic type backings etc.

First excess moisture is vacuumed out, then carpet and underlay may be lifted (removed if necessary), and any other materials that will not dry fast without damage. All areas that have potential growth of mold are then sprayed with an antimicrobial product that kills mold dead. After, the damaged areas are speed dried using turbo dryers and dehumidifiers. The carpet may be reinstalled, cleaned and then contents put back so your life can return to normal. Anytime natural disaster strikes it is not a good time and we work hard to reduce the stress level that comes with it.

It is important to consult with your insurance company to determine your coverage after you get the initial problem under control. In a sewer backup, the cleanup is  much more important. Many diseases can be contracted from raw sewage and our IICRC Certified Water Damage training is much more important to your health and safety.
